Virginia Film Festival, Charlottesville, VA
Inlaws & Outlaws is an official selection of the 21st annual Virginia Film Festival in Charlottesville, Virginia, Sunday, November 8th, 2009 at 10 am.
The event is co-sponsored by the Serpentine Society, the LGBTQ alumni association of the University of Virginia. Filmmaker Drew Emery is an alum of the university's Graduate School of Arts & Sciences. He received an MFA in Playwriting from UVa and later went on to win the statewide Virginia Playwriting Prize before moving to Seattle and beginning his work in oral history.
Tickets for the Virginia Film Festival go on sale Oct. 9 and are available online or in person or by phone from the U.Va. Arts Box Office, located in the lobby of the Drama Building at 109 Culbreth Road. The box office is open weekdays from noon to 5 p.m.; its phone number is 434-924-3376.
A limited number of complimentary tickets are available for full-time University of Virginia students through the UVa Arts Box Office in Culbreth Theatre.
About the Virginia Film Festival:
Each autumn, amid the fall colors of the Blue Ridge Mountains, the Virginia Film Festival takes the stage at Thomas Jefferson's University of Virginia in Charlottesville. For over twenty years, the Festival has attracted national recognition for its unique mix of entertainment and education.
The Festival designs its program to resemble a huge comprehensive course on a cultural theme, which illuminates the social and artistic impact of moviemaking. In 2009, the theme is Funny Business.
