About the 2010-2011 Convocation Series:
The theme for this year's convocation is The Persistence of Memory: Perspectives on the Past. "We are all living with the consequences of the past. We are haunted by history & memory, and often nagged by a strange feeling that past events are somehow never really "over." Even though they are creatures of the past, history & memory cling to us in the present. But to live in the present, and to plan for the future, we must realize that we are all citizens of a persistent past. It defines who we are today, and although the past is a hard thing to know, we must seek to understand it."
About Drury University Allies:
Allies is an organization of students, faculty and staff who work with the Drury community to provide an environment of respect and understanding among gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and straight individuals. We do not endorse any particular lifestyle nor do we impose our views on other people. We are here to provide an open-minded community where everyone is welcome.
Allies meets every Tuesday at 8:15pm in the FSC Downunder. All are welcome!
