6th Annual Gay in Appalachia | Blacksburg, VA

The LGBT Caucus at Virginia Tech hosts Inlaws & Outlaws as part of the 6th Annual Gay in Appalachia gathering, Thursday, October 28th at 7 pm. The event will benefit the LGBT Scholarship Fund at Virginia Tech.
Filmmaker Drew Emery will visit the campus for Gay in Appalachia, meeting with student organizations, serving as a guest lecturer, and appearing at the film screening to lead a Q&A and discussion following the film. A reception with the filmmaker will follow the event in Room F of the Graduate Life Center.
This event marks the 400th community screening of Inlaws & Outlaws as part of the Hearts + Minds Campaign. The Blacksburg event also kicks off the film's Virginia Outlaws Tour which brings the film to five cities in Virginia through November 1st. See all the dates of the tour here.

About LGBT Caucus at Virginia Tech:
The LGBT Caucus at Virginia Tech is committed to advancing equality for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender people and their families. The caucus seeks to improve the lives of LGBT individuals both at the University and in the New River Valley community through educational programming, social activities, public service, and outreach.
Together with our allies, we strive to share information and initiate progressive community change as we visibly work for social justice and human rights.

Directions from Downtown Blacksburg:
From North Main Street, turn onto College Avenue (turn right if approaching from the north, left if approaching from the south). College Avenue proceeds past Squires Student Center and makes a 90 degree bend to the left, becoming Otey Street. The Center is on your right.
Directions from U.S. 460 Bypass:
Follow the signs to Virginia Tech's Visitor's Center, on Southgate Drive. Proceed past the Visitor's Center on Southgate Drive. Make a left at the traffic light onto Spring Road. At the end of Spring Road, make a right onto Washington Street. Take the second left onto Otey Street. The Center will be on your left.
Parking at the Graduate Life Center:
Parking for students, faculty, and staff is available in the parking lot across the street from the GLC. Visitors, make sure to obtain a Visitor parking pass from the Visitor's Center on Southgate Drive (see Directions from U.S. 460 Bypass, above) prior to parking in these areas.
