About the Micah Project:
"First United Methodist Church's Micah Project is a peace with justice program. Our mission is to facilitate the relationship between individuals, their faith, and the community, in order to embody the mandate from the Book of Micah to "do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God." Our current programmatic priorities are: 1) Promoting peace in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other areas in conflict; 2) Advocating for economic justice locally and globally; 3) Strengthening the gay/lesbian/bisexual/transgender community and promoting marriage equality; 4) Advocating and promoting equitable national health care for all residents of the United States; 5) Providing sanctuary to military personnel who wish to discern their call in regard to serving in areas in conflict; and 6) Supporting economic justice for workers and promoting dignity in the workplace."
